Three Vital Reasons Why Dentists Need a Great Website

One thing we often observe about dentists is their oversight in fully leveraging the power of the Internet to attract new patients and keep current patients coming back.

More than 95 percent of dentists do have websites, but these sites are more like a brochure or Yellow Pages listing than a modern, engaging experience for their patients.

So, why is a great website important? Here are three big reasons.

My Dental Hub great website for dentist

1) It’s Where Your Prospects Are

Nearly half of all potential patients will use the Internet to find out more about a dental practice and the health professionals who work there. Patients take what they see on the Internet very seriously.

Having a website is of paramount importance, because when they inevitably search for your practice online, your site will come up as a top result and they’ll be able to find the information they are looking for.

2) It’s Your Biggest Marketing Tool

After a prospective patient visits your website, what they see is likely to sway them toward making an appointment or going elsewhere. A simple brochure website will tell them the bare-bones information they need to know, but utilizing modern web innovations will make your site come alive and leave a positive impression.

Ultimately, it’s not just about conveying information – it’s about making a potential patient enthusiastic about choosing you and your practice over any other, and about making the process as easy as possible

Try to incorporate these vital elements of a great website:

  • custom graphics/design
  • video
  • online forms
  • printable paperwork
  • free information guides
  • testimonials
  • an interactive map of your location
  • a blog with original content that informs and entertains

3) It Helps You Connect with Existing Patients

As important as it is to find new patients, you don’t want to let your relationship with existing patients drop either. A great website (paired with activity on social media) will be a big help in keeping your patients engaged.

Make it convenient for them to schedule and keep track of their appointments, and provide them with valuable content like informative videos that teach them about procedures you recommend (we’ll talk more about that next week).

In the end, what’s become clear is the fact that you can’t thrive as a dentist without a robust website and a strong online presence.

Good luck with your website!

We’re also proud of the fact that we’re a preferred partner of the AAP. This means our booth will be located by the registration area known as “Town Square,” just outside of the main convention room.

Check out the schedule of events to plan what you want to see there!

Make sure you stop by our booth to say hi, and we definitely encourage you to attend this unique event!
