This is the Global Dental Science (GDS) privacy policy. Global Dental Science provides the product called AvaDent Digital Education Solutions. This document explains GDS’s policies for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information.

GDS collects information primarily by information actively provided by its customers (“Users”), and information Users store on GDS systems using the GDS Information Service (the “Service”).

The types of personal information we collect include name, contact information, payment information, and identification information. Users store information on the Service about their patients and their practice.

This information is used to provide the Service, including customer service, promotion, accounting, billing, and collections.

GDS may use aggregate or anonymous information that will not be linked to identified individuals for various other uses for itself and third parties.

GDS does not share personal information with any third parties except as disclosed in this policy. GDS may provide personal information to GDS’s consultants, subcontractors and professional advisers (which will be bound by privacy obligations) to assist GDS’s uses disclosed herein.

Personal information is protected by security measures appropriate to the nature of the information.

Individuals may review their personal information contained in GDS files by contacting GDS directly. If an individual believes that any of their personal information is inaccurate, we will make appropriate corrections. Patients of Users must contact the User that stored their information to review their personal information stored using the Service.

GDS may amend this policy from time to time. If such amendments affect how GDS uses or discloses personal information already held by GDS in a material way, GDS will obtain consent.

Notwithstanding the general terms of this policy, the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information may be made outside of the terms herein to the extent provided for in any applicable privacy or other legislation in effect from time to time. GDS may disclose personal information to another entity purchasing (including for diligence purposes prior to purchase) the assets of GDS, provided that entity abides by this or a similar privacy policy.
